Allen says it's the history, philosophy, and clients that brought him to Stevens in 1998, and it's the clients and co-workers that make him stay. Shortly after joining Stevens, he made partner and was named President in 2005. He's a busy guy, serving not only as President, but a project manager, budget consultant, and lead strategist. Outside the office, Allen can be seen at the beach playing volleyball, out on the slopes, or on the lake with a fishing pole. Clients include Yamaha Corporation, McDonald's, National Heritage Academies, American Education Group, Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa, Saint Mary's Health Care, Ferris Coffee & Nut, and SAF HOLLAND.

Mike is the authority on all things interactive –
web design, apps, code, angry birds, you name it.
In the office, he's either on the phone, speaking
or concentrating with his face close to the screen, ensuring that everything is pixel perfect. Mike earned his BFA in Visual Communications from Calvin College, and his MA in Advertising Design from Syracuse University. He is a dedicated computer nerd in and out of the office, although he does find time to pull himself away from the computer and hang with his family. When asked to list his clients of note he said, “all of them.”
“I'm a web guy, I don't do PMS. So, #dd8c00.”
“As soon as you think a project is as good as
it can be,
get out of the business!”
“Smile more than frown.”
Laura handles all of the important stuff in the office, like finances, phone calls, planning awesome holiday parties and keeping her crazy coworkers in line. A Grand Rapids native, Laura received her BA in Business Administrations from Aquinas College. When she’s not keeping the office in order, Laura enjoys traveling (she’s been to every state except Alaska!) and spending time with her kids. When asked what she liked most about her job she said a bunch of different things, but all we heard was “I get to work with an amazing group of people – they’re smart, creative and full of life.” Aww.
"My children – I love seeing the world through their eyes. We try to go on as many adventures as possible."
"Neither – I like the freedom of going where I want, when I want – even my houseplants are low maintenance."
"Family, friends, chocolate (I’m a sugarholic), sarcasm, hair stuff to tame the mane, and good wine."
Having worked in media planning and buying for over twenty years, Diane is a valued asset to our team. Lisa is the official liaison between the creative team and the clients, which means she spends a lot of time emailing, chatting, and meeting with just about everyone. A graduate of Ferris State University with a degree in Advertising, Lisa comes to Stevens after working as an Account Executive in Southfield, Michigan, on the Owens Corning national account. Lisa truly believes in Stevens' mission and especially loves our clients and her co-workers. When she's not using her masterful people skills, she's enjoying life with her husband and two little girls.
“I love my clients and co-workers, and I
“Do-so is more important than say-so.”
“Dancing Queen, ABBA.”
Scoring Chris as our Creative Team Lead was a serious coup. His work is outstanding, and it speaks for itself. Look it up if you have the time. The latest can be found in the pages of Lürzer's Archive. His laid back attitude cleverly disguises a serious perfectionist who will stay for hours on end making the finished product impeccably, aesthetically pleasing.
A graduate of Kendall College of Art & Design (we love that place), Chris also served as an award-winning art director and designer in the Traverse City area. Previous clients include Special K, Kashi, Goodwill Industries, baabaaZuzu, and Boyne.
“The next brief on my desk.”
“I was told there would be free candy.”
“Ability to escape handcuffs, while in the back of a locked car.”
Alphonse has a Database Management degree from Davenport University and an intense work ethic. Combine the two, and what do you get? An amazingly dedicated and talented programmer. Before his work at Stevens, Alphonse successfully developed and implemented a web-based wellness management system for Advantage Health Physician Network. Outside of the virtual world, he enjoys movies, traveling, and fishing.
“Fluent in over ten languages.”
“It makes me think big.”
Along with sporting a pretty cool last name, Harrison is also a gifted coder and web designer. We've also been told that he's a pretty freakin' incredible video gamer. We think Harrison would agree when we say the one word that describes him well is – awesome*.
“Being awesome* at video games and having an excellent sense of rhythm. I rank nationally in the top one-hundred in a couple of rhythm-based games, Dance Central and DJ Hero.”
“Being able to create, whether it's art or code.”
“A cup of water, a light, and...oh, my dual-monitor gaming PC.”
Meagan is our project manager. But really, she’s more like the Velcro that holds the creative team together (without the annoying sound). She makes sure everyone is on task and keeps things running smoothly. Meagan graduated from Ferris State University and majored in Advertising. Aside from maintaining order in the office, she has done some pretty cool stuff; like sky diving over Lake Michigan and visiting the sun and moon pyramids. Meagan believes the key to longevity is being happy. We can’t argue with that. She also loves spicy foods and her border collie, Calvin.
“Zombie – The Cranberries”
“I love all of the breweries, wineries, and sandy beaches.”
“Rock, paper, scissors”
It’s fate that brought Nick and Stevens Advertising together, but it’s the kickass work and great people that made him fall in love. As an almost-graduated Kendall student, Nick adds fresh perceptive to our tight-knit creative team. He told us that his favorite projects are “any one that challenges me,” and we’ve definitely got plenty of those. Nick can often be spotted at his desk, guzzling down a sixteen-ounce Red Bull, dressed in a blue hoodie and a fresh pair of kicks. Previous clients include PacSun, Consumers Energy and the Grand Rapids’ Public Museum.
“7462.” (He’s serious; he has four different sweatshirts this color.)
“Having a clear goal and a vision that evolves but never wavers from the goal.”
“I duno; I’d have to ask my grandpa. He’s three times my age, still kickin’ although he’s lit himself on fire every Fourth of July since the dawn of time.”
Lane is the newest addition to Stevens’s creative team. She’s a Grand Rapids native with a degree in Art and English from Aquinas College and a deep commitment to the written word. In fact, she used to get in trouble for reading under the table during class in elementary school. She applied to Stevens because of the promised snacks, and looks forward to joining a dedicated and connected team that creates amazing work. When she’s not at the office, you can find her being bitten by her puppy Nellie or eating ice cream.
“Shopping at Goodwill. It may not sound like a talent, but I’m so good at Goodwill. Almost everything I own is Goodwill-fresh.”
“Friends, family, the library, fresh flowers, dessert, and my phone.”
“You can’t be good all the time.” – Mrs. Morris, my first grade teacher
Dani is a Junior Graphic Designer with some serious talent (you should see her portfolio). A graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design, with a degree in Graphic Design, Dani brings a fresh perspective, unique skillset and an eye for detail to the design team. When she’s not doing great work for our wonderful clients, you can find the self-proclaimed BB Gun Sharp Shooter rocking one of her many stylish grandpa sweaters and working on her hand lettering.
"Dog. But my spirit animal is a busy bee."
"My Halloween costume from 2010." It was a homemade Nannerpuss (from the old Denny's commercials) costume. Trust us, it's impressive.

As a Media Buyer, Colleen helps make sure our clients get the most out of their media budgets. She’s also a pivotal part of our Social Media team. Needles to say, she stays pretty busy. A graduate of Northwood University’s Richard DeVos Graduate School of Management, where she was also on the Competitive Speech Team, Colleen lives and breathes business. She’s a driven professional who’s passionate about helping local businesses succeed. A desire to work with a diverse range of clients in a variety of different industries is what brought her to Stevens, but it’s the people, the vibe and, of course, the clients that keep her here. Clients of note include Fusion Academy.
“Barbara Corcoran from Shark Tank.”
“Aliens are real. I guess you could say I believe the X-Files.”
“Probably a horse. Because they are super strong but also beautiful.”
“Irish Dancing like Riverdance.”
We like to call him the new kid on the block. Well, we don’t, but he’s our newest addition to our web team, and we’re pumped to have him in the office. A 2004 graduate of Reeths-Puffer, Aaron is a Michigan native, hailing from Muskegon, and is completely self-taught on his front-end developer skills. How cool is that? He describes himself as an old dog who can learn new tricks despite his preference for cats vs. dogs. Aaron loves West Michigan’s widely available disc golfing courses, and strawberry cheesecake flavored ice cream. Right on, dude.
“Pizza. This may be the most divisive topic in our office.”
“Flux and Flow by LIGHTS or Young Blood by The Naked and Famous.”
