Allen says it's the history, philosophy, and clients that brought him to Stevens in 1998, and it's the clients and co-workers that make him stay. Shortly after joining Stevens, he made partner and was named President in 2005. He's a busy guy, serving not only as President, but a project manager, budget consultant, and lead strategist. Outside the office, Allen can be seen at the beach playing volleyball, out on the slopes, or on the lake with a fishing pole. Clients include Yamaha Corporation, McDonald's, National Heritage Academies, American Education Group, Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa, Saint Mary's Health Care, Ferris Coffee & Nut, and SAF HOLLAND.

Best piece of advice you've been given?

“Work for clients you can believe in.”

“Seeing the results, working for great clients, and being able to work with really smart and creative people.”

“Depends, every Friday is different. Could be hunting or hiking, maybe skiing, reading a book, or hanging out with the family.”

Mike is the authority on all things interactive – web design, apps, code, angry birds, you name it. In the office, he's either on the phone, speaking in code,
or concentrating with his face close to the screen, ensuring that everything is pixel perfect. Mike earned his BFA in Visual Communications from Calvin College, and his MA in Advertising Design from Syracuse University. He is a dedicated computer nerd in and out of the office, although he does find time to pull himself away from the computer and hang with his family. When asked to list his clients of note he said, “all of them.”

What Pantone color are you?

“I'm a web guy, I don't do PMS. So, #dd8c00.”

Best piece of advice you've been given?

“As soon as you think a project is as good as it can be,
get out of the business!”

The key to success is?

“Smile more than frown.”

Laura handles all of the important stuff in the office, like finances, phone calls, planning awesome holiday parties and keeping her crazy coworkers in line. A Grand Rapids native, Laura received her BA in Business Administrations from Aquinas College. When she’s not keeping the office in order, Laura enjoys traveling (she’s been to every state except Alaska!) and spending time with her kids. When asked what she liked most about her job she said a bunch of different things, but all we heard was “I get to work with an amazing group of people – they’re smart, creative and full of life.” Aww.

Thing you’re most proud of:

"My children – I love seeing the world through their eyes. We try to go on as many adventures as possible."

Cat or dog:

"Neither – I like the freedom of going where I want, when I want – even my houseplants are low maintenance."

Six things you could never do without:

"Family, friends, chocolate (I’m a sugarholic), sarcasm, hair stuff to tame the mane, and good wine."

Having worked in media planning and buying for over twenty years, Diane is a valued asset to our team. She has a hefty advertising resume including a lot of previous agency work, owning her own media-buying agency, and graduating from University of Michigan with a BA in Communications. Previous clients include Chevrolet Dealer Association Groups, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Wendy's, and Dean's Dips. Diane is also our resident food and wine expert.

If you were stuck on a deserted Rhode Island, what would you bring with you?

“My bike and sailing gear for hanging out in Newport. Think of all the cool boats you'd have access to!”

“I get to work with people from all over the country on a daily basis.”

Lisa is the official liaison between the creative team and the clients, which means she spends a lot of time emailing, chatting, and meeting with just about everyone. A graduate of Ferris State University with a degree in Advertising, Lisa comes to Stevens after working as an Account Executive in Southfield, Michigan, on the Owens Corning national account. Lisa truly believes in Stevens' mission and especially loves our clients and her co-workers. When she's not using her masterful people skills, she's enjoying life with her husband and two little girls.

His laid back attitude cleverly disguises a serious perfectionist who will stay for hours on end making the finished product impeccably, aesthetically pleasing.

A graduate of Kendall College of Art & Design (we love that place), Chris also served as an award-winning art director and designer in the Traverse City area. Previous clients include Special K, Kashi, Goodwill Industries, baabaaZuzu, and Boyne.

“The next brief on my desk.”

What brought you to Stevens?

“I was told there would be free candy.”

Alphonse has a Database Management degree from Davenport University and an intense work ethic. Combine the two, and what do you get? An amazingly dedicated and talented programmer. Before his work at Stevens, Alphonse successfully developed and implemented a web-based wellness management system for Advantage Health Physician Network. Outside of the virtual world, he enjoys movies, traveling, and fishing.

“Being awesome* at video games and having an excellent sense of rhythm. I rank nationally in the top one-hundred in a couple of rhythm-based games, Dance Central and DJ Hero.”

Meagan is our project manager. But really, she’s more like the Velcro that holds the creative team together (without the annoying sound). She makes sure everyone is on task and keeps things running smoothly. Meagan graduated from Ferris State University and majored in Advertising. Aside from maintaining order in the office, she has done some pretty cool stuff; like sky diving over Lake Michigan and visiting the sun and moon pyramids. Meagan believes the key to longevity is being happy. We can’t argue with that. She also loves spicy foods and her border collie, Calvin.

“I love all of the breweries, wineries, and sandy beaches.”

It’s fate that brought Nick and Stevens Advertising together, but it’s the kickass work and great people that made him fall in love. As an almost-graduated Kendall student, Nick adds fresh perceptive to our tight-knit creative team. He told us that his favorite projects are “any one that challenges me,” and we’ve definitely got plenty of those. Nick can often be spotted at his desk, guzzling down a sixteen-ounce Red Bull, dressed in a blue hoodie and a fresh pair of kicks. Previous clients include PacSun, Consumers Energy and the Grand Rapids’ Public Museum.

What Pantone color are you?

“7462.” (He’s serious; he has four different sweatshirts this color.)

“Having a clear goal and a vision that evolves but never wavers from the goal.”

“I duno; I’d have to ask my grandpa. He’s three times my age, still kickin’ although he’s lit himself on fire every Fourth of July since the dawn of time.”

Lane is the newest addition to Stevens’s creative team. She’s a Grand Rapids native with a degree in Art and English from Aquinas College and a deep commitment to the written word. In fact, she used to get in trouble for reading under the table during class in elementary school. She applied to Stevens because of the promised snacks, and looks forward to joining a dedicated and connected team that creates amazing work. When she’s not at the office, you can find her being bitten by her puppy Nellie or eating ice cream.

When she’s not doing great work for our wonderful clients, you can find the self-proclaimed BB Gun Sharp Shooter rocking one of her many stylish grandpa sweaters and working on her hand lettering.

"My Halloween costume from 2010." It was a homemade Nannerpuss (from the old Denny's commercials) costume. Trust us, it's impressive.

We like to call him the new kid on the block. Well, we don’t, but he’s our newest addition to our web team, and we’re pumped to have him in the office. A 2004 graduate of Reeths-Puffer, Aaron is a Michigan native, hailing from Muskegon, and is completely self-taught on his front-end developer skills. How cool is that? He describes himself as an old dog who can learn new tricks despite his preference for cats vs. dogs. Aaron loves West Michigan’s widely available disc golfing courses, and strawberry cheesecake flavored ice cream. Right on, dude.

“An architect.”

With a last name like that, we were hoping his first name would be Thor. But it’s not, so we have to call him Conner. As the newest addition to the Stevens family, Conner is our Digital Marketing Manager! As a GR native, he loves how versatile West Michigan is and that there’s something for everyone. He says the same thing about his work – that there’s always something to change, improve, and that forward motion is key. As a kid, he always wanted to be a garbage collector, but he says he’s pretty happy to be here at Stevens. We’re no trash pile, but we’ll take it.

What do you like about your work?

“The fact that there is always something to do or change. In digital marketing, the moment you stop is the moment you fail.”

“Hammerhead shark.” With his last name, it makes sense.
