Best piece of advice you’ve been given
Never let the fear of striking out keep you from
playing the game.” Babe Ruth originally said it, but I learned it from the movie A Cinderella
Story and it just stuck with me since!
Song that’s always on the playlist
I love most genres of music, especially modern folk and pop. My happy song as of late has been Dance with Everybody by Drew Holcomb and The National Parks.
Six things you could never do without
My family, my cat, my sourdough starter, excellent books (let’s just pretend that all the books count as one thing), a good pair of walking shoes, and coffee
Secret talent
Useless knowledge. You want me on your trivia team. One of my college roommates religiously watched Jeopardy every weeknight and I’ve been hooked ever since. While one of my life goals is to be on Jeopardy one day, I’ll settle (for now) for having won a trivia contest for one of my favorite TV shows, Bob’s Burgers. I also make fermented foods from scratch like sourdough bread, sauerkraut, kombucha and ginger ale, and my fiancé and I plan to try our hands at home-brewing beer soon too!
“If anyone says pizza, they’re lying or just wrong.”
If you could have dinner with one person throughout history, who would it be?
“If it’s a nice dinner, Dieter Rams. If it’s more of a going out to drink kind of thing, then I want someone who would let loose. Charles Bukowski or Jack Kerouac.” We can’t argue with that.
“I have no secret talents whatsoever. If I find myself being moderately talented at anything I never keep it a secret. Speaking of which, I’m a pretty good whistler.”
What did you want to be when you were a kid?
“An attorney. Ha! I liked to debate. But seriously, what kid wants to be an attorney? So uncool.”
If you could have dinner with one person throughout history, who would it be?
“Probably Winston Churchill, but that’s a tough call. Teddy Roosevelt would be pretty interesting too.”
Best piece of advice you can give:
“Be true to yourself and do what you love – everything else will follow.”
